Noungenerators
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. In electricity generation, an electrical generator is a device that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy, generally using electromagnetic induction. The reverse conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy is done by a motor; motors and generators have many similarities. A generator forces electric charges to move through an external electrical circuit, but it does not create electricity or charge, which is already present in the wire of its windings. It is somewhat analogous to a water pump, which creates a flow of water but does not create the water inside. The source of mechanical energy may be a reciprocating or turbine steam engine, water falling through a turbine or waterwheel, an internal combustion engine, a wind turbine, a hand crank, compressed air or any other source of mechanical energy. Asynchronous or induction singly-fed generator, the doubly-fed generator, or the brushless wound-rotor doubly-fed generator 6. MDH - magnetohydrodynamic generator I hope it helps Answered by Edward - Sun Apr 6 09:58:32 2008 Someone who knows about back up generators help? Q. We lose power often in our town (basically every time there is bad weather) and we are tired of everything getting spoiled so we are thinking of getting a generator. Anyone know the best type to get? How much they generally cost? I guess we just need one that would back of the fridge and some lights (doesn't need to power the whole house because when we move we want to be able to take it). Any advice on generators is appreciated! Yeah it would have to be less than $1000, we can't afford anything too expensive. We can hook it up ourselves or do we need an electrician? Asked by Baba Booey! - Sun Dec 14 11:46:28 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. I have a 7500K Generac. Home Depot sells them for under $1000.00. They come with a special extension cord that lets you hook up at least three items. You can use another cord and hook up more. Mine is gas. You keep it outside. I run my cord through the doggie door when I need it. They are very simple. You can probably use a smaller unit for what you want. But get the largest you can afford. Mine is an electric start. You just press a button. Answered by agrandad - Sun Dec 14 12:14:09 2008 Where to buy tiny generators for experimentation?
Q. I had a few as a kid, and now i cant find them. Im looking for small like d battery size generators with low torque. the kind you could say.. hook up behind a toy pinwheel and the air would spin the wheel creating a small charge, also looking for small electric motors the same size, if anyone knows a web site please help. trying to save the world, lol. not really, just got an idea. and no its not the pinwheel idea but it helps define what im looking for. thanks a bunch.
