What beverage to have with a candy bar?
Q. I've saved myself a treat for doing a lot of chores today - two loads of laundry, dishes, cleaning bathroom and kitchen, including mopping the floors. But, I can't decide what beverage I should have to go with it - here's what I have to drink: 1. Milk 2. Hot chocolate 3. Cranapple cider 4. Green or Oolong tea 5. Grape soda Which would you choose - best answer will have an explanation of why the beverage will go well with the chocolate candy bar.

A. I would go with the Cranapple cider. The tartness of the drink will offset the sweetness of the chocolate. Milk or hot chocolate would just make everything that much sweeter. So would grape soda. Tea is good, but not with candy. I don't know why, it just doesn't seem right. By the way good for you. I keep putting off the mopping forever, or until my folks come for a visit.

How will I feel with a beverage that is mixed with a 40 percent alcohol beverage?
Q. Don't preach to me because it's not illegal to drink the way I do it (my parents are watching me and providing the alcohol for me and that's not illegal) anyway. I'm 125 pounds, I'm 5 feet 8 1/2 inches. Every time we are at a party in my house and we want to serve alcoholic beverages we serve Pisco Sour. So it's not the 40 percent alcohol beverage straight from the bottle. So how would I feel?
Asked by coolcutecreative90 - Sat Jun 21 20:42:58 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. News flash...if you are under the legal drinking age in your state, it IS illegal to drink alcohol. The fact that your parents are supplying it is irrelevant (except that, technically, they are breaking the law, too). If you are serving it to others who are also under age, then you are breaking numerous other laws, and so are your parents. Just thought you couldn't care less and I'd tell you anyway.

A. Yes -- TEA!!! Good old Lipton tea is good for you because it's mostly Black Pekoe Tea, which is high in antioxidants. Hot Green Tea is also good for you. Hot apple cider is not as good for you as tea, but it's better for you than soft drinks.

Location of elements in a commercial beverage cooler?
Q. I need to cut up a beverage cooler, the kind that you'd see in a small convenience store, with the glass door and shelves, for a movie prop. The machine is dead and I can do what I want to it, but I need to cut the back out and am worried that that is where the cooling elements are embedded. Does any one know? I'm hoping they are in the sides. The model is a Beverage-Air MT27 with a swing door. I see the compressor at the bottom but am not sure where the freon line goes. Thanks to any refrigeration experts out there!

A. you don't want to just cut into it the refrigerant is most likely in the back but if you as a HVAC company they can recover it safely and it shouldn't cost much if anything

Asked by abdiver12 - Fri Jun 13 09:14:20 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It just went up to $7.00 per drink...I know, I work for United Airlines. Better to bring a few miniatures with you and order a soda and when nobody is watching pour it into your glass and drink up. You should be able to get the bottles through security as they are less than three ounces.

How can you find the amount of alcohol in an alcoholic beverage?
Q. How can you find out how much alcohol (the proof) is in an alcoholic beverage? Obviously it's printed on the bottle. But how do the people that put it on the bottle find it out?
Asked by Drew - Sun Jul 19 02:54:06 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. They use a hydrometer. From what I recall, readings from before and after fermentation are compared. I'm not familiar with the exact process, though. A hydrolyzer is something different - it is used for separating hydrogen from water.

Can I put a hot beverage in a glass jar without it shattering?
Q. We want to use glass jars at our wedding, and are having a hot beverage. I want to make sure I can do this!
Asked by Danielle D - Tue Sep 2 15:38:23 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. One way to add hot liquid to a glass vessel of any sort is to put a tall spoon or knife in the glass and slowly pouring the liquid on it. This widens the stream of the liquid as it enters the glass, allowing the inside and outside of the glass to come to the temperature of the liquid a bit more gradually. It also helps if the glass isn't too fragile. Glass Irish coffee cups are made for this sort of thing and may be an option for you.

How do I start a Monster beverage store?
Q. Hi, me and my 3 friends are looking to start a retail Monster Energy Beverage store for over the summer. We already buy it wholesale for ourselves but we want to start to sell it [legally]. Can anyone tell us how to get started into selling it legally in my town? There is 3 of us, ages 15-15- and 18, so our friend whos 18 is gonna handle the legal stuff and such. We already have a building for it too.

A. It may sound like a good idea, but Monster and other energy drinks are already sold in stores who have an establish clientele. Why would you want to compete with Wal-mart, or the grocery stores, convenience stores, etc who already have guaranteed traffic. I am not sure what town you live in and maybe it is not already sold elsewhere, but I for one, would not make a trip to a specialty business to buy a single item, even to save a few cents, when I could purchase that item at a location where I need other items also, especially with the price of gas... However, if you do a search on how to start a retail store, you will come up with several good links... here is just one... ~I wish you luck. ~jennifer Helping others create income from… [cont.]

What do you think of an alcoholic beverage delivery system?
Q. I was at a party last night and everybody was intoxicated. We ran out of alcohol and were destined to get some more. One problem, none of us were sober. What do you think of an alcoholic beverage delivery system? A system in which someone would bring alcohol to you? As you might imagine, there would be fees involved. Of course there would be the problem with lawsuits and such... Here's my solution. (1) Ask for ID from purchaser. (2) Have them sign release form stating anything that happens is his/her responsibility and that everyone drinking is of legal age. I think those are the only things that would protect me.

A. there are teas, sodas, beers, and a myriad types of others. you need to contact small "drink" producers and see if they can "tool" up for you. the fda will get involved but not till you are ready to get it bottled/canned. HOW sure are you that there is a large market for your product--have you tested marketed it first? if unsure how to do that, let me know and I can teach you.
