Nounalcoholic beverages pl.
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. An alcoholic beverage is a drink that contains ethanol (commonly called alcohol). Alcoholic beverages are divided into three general classes: beers, wines, and spirits. Alcoholic beverages are consumed in most sovereign states. Each nation has laws that regulate their production, sale, and consumption. In particular, such laws specify the minimum age at which a person may legally buy or drink them. The minimum age varies between 16 and 25 depending on the nation and the type of drink. Most nations set it at 18 years of age. The production and consumption of alcohol occurs in most cultures of the world, from hunter-gatherer peoples to nation-states. Alcoholic beverages are often an important part of social events in these cultures. In many cultures, drinking plays a significant role in social interaction — mainly because of alcohol’s neurological effects. Alcohol is a psychoactive drug that has a depressant effect. A high blood alcohol content is usually considered to be legal drunkenness because it reduces attention and slows reaction speed. Alcoholic beverages can be addictive, and the state of addiction to alcohol is known as alcoholism. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License What types of alcoholic beverages have no brewer's yeast in them? Or have it filtered out completely? Q. I've read several posts here to try to find more information, but haven't been able to find an answer to this. I've read that yeast is central to the alcohol brewing process, but I've also read that some alcoholic beverages have processed and filtered it out. I took an allergy test recently which said that I'm allergic to brewer's yeast - does this cover all the yeast strains in Japanese Sake for example? Or are there strains I can have? Thanks! Asked by bishopbebop - Sun Aug 30 22:11:04 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. MasterPython is correct. But I will elaborate. "Hard" alcohol is distilled by evaporation to get the purest form. Thus all the flavoring ingredients and yeast are left behind. Beer is full of yeast, well the one's worth drinking. I am so sorry that you are allergic to brewers yeast. I don't know what I would do. Answered by higgimonster - Sun Aug 30 22:35:45 2009 If I am 18, am I automatically eligible to serve alcoholic beverages in Florida? Q. I am applying for a job with the Marriot to hostess and maybe wait tables in one of their restaurants. They want to know if I am eligible to serve alcohol, and I am 18. I will not be applying for any bar-tending positions, so do I need some kind of special license or anything? Or does age automatically qualify you to serve alcoholic beverages? *The reason I ask is because they already asked previously if I were at least 18, so I don't know if they are just being thorough or if there are any extra requirements. Asked by a girl - Tue Jun 3 12:52:43 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. The requirement to serve alcohol is that you must be 18 years of age. I was a bartender/server when I was 18 and that is what I was told. There is no special license or certification to get. (I am from Florida as well) Here is a link that explains it further: Answered by Kasey B - Tue Jun 3 13:01:10 2008 What is the legality of making your own wine, liqour, or any alcoholic beverages?
Q. Is there any regulations to making your own alcoholic beverages as long as there is no intent to sell. Asked by omega_million - Mon Apr 23 19:22:56 2007 - - 16 Answers - 0 Comments A. I don't think it's regulated by states, but falls under Federal jurisdiction. The last I heard, you can make up to 200 gallons of beer or wine per year for your own consumption. You cannot distill any liquor.
