Alcoholic beverages are divided into three general classes: beers, wines, and spirits. Alcoholic beverages are consumed in most sovereign states. Each nation has laws that regulate their production, sale, and consumption. In particular, such laws specify the minimum age at which a person may legally buy or drink them. The minimum age varies between 16 and 25 depending on the nation and the type of drink. Most nations set it at 18 years of age. The production and consumption of alcohol occurs in most cultures of the world, from hunter-gatherer peoples to nation-states. Alcoholic beverages are often an important part of social events in these cultures. In many cultures, drinking plays a significant role in social interaction — mainly because of alcohol’s neurological effects. Alcohol is a psychoactive drug that has a depressant effect. A high blood alcohol content is usually considered to be legal drunkenness because it reduces attention and slows reaction speed. Alcoholic beverages can be addictive, and the state of addiction to alcohol is known as alcoholism. From Wikipedia under the

Q. I love beer. But I'm 45 lbs overweight. I'm trying to loose The fat. So, is there a beer, or an alcoholic beverage I could drink that would get me drunk and has like, no calories in it? As little calories as possible thanks. Asked by z6x643 - Fri May 1 12:09:13 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. What you really want to do is avoid the carbs in the beer. Liquor contains no carbs. You can switch to your favorite liquor (it doesn't matter if it is clear or brown ... or gold) and mix it with a no-calorie mixer and you can still drink and lose weight. It is the carbohydrates in beer that contribute to weight gain and the beer gut.
