How to make apple pie shots with a liquor other than everclear?
Q. I want to make a couple gallons apple pie shots, but i live in ohio and everclear is not leagal. Every recipe ive seen calls for 1 gallon apple jiuce 1 gallon of cider a few cinnamon sticks and a liter of everclear. I want to use another liqour but i dont want to make it too sweet, so does anyone have a recipe for some with maybe like bacardi 151

Apple pie shots with everclear recipe?
Q. Had some of this at a bonfire last week. Was really really good but didn't think to find out how it was made. Was called apple pie shots. It was made with everclear and had a cinnamon stick in the bottle. It was absolutely delish and literally you couldn't taste the alcohol whatsoever! Anyone got a recipe?

A. here is how we do ours,,, Glass container,,, with lid we use one of those sun tea pitchers,,, mix 1 1/2 - 2 cup everclear with 1 gallon of Apple CIDER not Juice,,, throw in appx 5 cinnamon stix,, and let it set in the fridge for 2 days... then pour into seperate wine bottles,,, but make sure you use glass. that how we do ours,, but there are several different ways to do it!! you may or may not need the whole gallon of juice,, and you can use as much everclear to suit your taste.

Q. I was thinking about making a drink called Apple Pie. 1 gallon apple cider 1/2 gallon apple juice 7 cinnamon sticks 1 liter Everclear Put the cider, juice, and cinnamon sticks into a large kettle. Bring to almost a boil and then let cool. Pour in the Everclear. Basically I was wondering about how long of a shelf life can I expect from it? FYI Everclear will be 75.5% (151 proof).

A. It depends on what % of alcohol is in the solution. The more booze the more time it will take for bacteria to make the mix rancid. What you are making has a ton of sugar in it. Don't expect it to last more than a week or two.

A. Well, look at the recipe Mayor west gave. You have 1qt of 95% ethanol in 2 gallons of non-alcoholic drink. That's already a 1:8 ratio, with the 95% ethanol figured in it becomes 10.55% ABV. That's less than wine has. I would say you can feel the alcohol in wine more than taste it. Around 20%+ I generally begin to actually taste the alcohol, rather than feel it. Now, with 2 qts of Everclear you have a 2:8 ratio, which produces a 19% ABV drink. And everclear is a nearly pure ethanol, so it shouldn't impart a distinctive flavor of its own. What you end up tasting is the alcohol, which doesn't have a flavor so much as a sensation anyways.
