How to make a cafe mocha like starbucks?
Q. Does anyone know how to make one that taste almost identical to starbucks?
Asked by NoName - Mon Nov 24 11:56:40 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The drink is a little espresso, a little chocolate syrup, and hot milk. If you don't have access to an espresso machine with a milk steamer, you can use strong coffee and just heat up the milk in the microwave. Put some chocolate syrup (or powdered hot cocoa mix) into the bottom of your mug and then add the coffee, about a third of the way up the side (depending on how strong your coffee is and how coffee-ish you want the final drink to be). Then stir well. Heat up the milk and fill the mug the rest of the way, stir a bunch more, and top it off with some whipped cream from a can. You will probably have to fiddle with the amounts until you get it just right, but that's part of the fun.

A. Take Richmond going North to the point where it crosses Main Street (near the old Sears). Richmond will turn into Wheeler (near the Fiesta and Wheeler Transit stop). Take Wheeler to Almeda and turn right. Stay on Almeda in your right lane. You will see it approximately 1/2 mile from Wheeler. My 2 cents - G & Zs is best (corner of Almeda and Wheeler).

A. A Cafe Mocha is a shot of espresso-roasted and -brewed coffee into a hot chocolate drink -- or, chocolate flavoring in a dark-roasted coffee drink. A Latte is a cappuccino but made with more milk so that it is lighter. A Mocha Latte is the same, but with a shot of chocolate flavoring added. You could add whipped cream to either drink, but will see it on the Latte more often than the Cafe Mocha.

Help! I can't seem to make the starbucks cafe mocha right...?
Q. Well, unfortunately i'm one of those people addicted to starbucks coffee, but I want to try to make it at home but I can't even get what I make close to what it is supposed to taste like, please help!! This is what I do currently... 1) I steam about 12 oz. of milk using my Krupps espresso machine and the milk pitcher and thermometer that I bought from starbucks to make sure I don't get the milk too hot. 2) Then I make the syrup using starbucks mochca powder using 3 tablespoons of powder with 3 tablespoons of warm water and mix.. 3) To make the espresso, I usually fill up the handle thing (not sure exactly what it is called...sorry) completely with starbucks espresso, then I fill two shot glasses of espresso. 4) I combine the mocha… [cont.]

A. well... does the espresso sit at all after it's pressed, or do you immediately mix it with something? A shot that is left to sit even for a few seconds will turn bitter. Other than it sounds about right. The thing is though, you're not going to get it exactly like ours because you're using different equipment (and I imagine inferior unless you've got really expensive stuff). Plus, it's hard to get the measurements just right when you're using different tools to measure it out than what we use.

Where can I find an exact alternative to the Starbucks Mocha Coco powder mix?
Q. I have been up and down the internet and I found all these hints about making your own starbucks cafe mocha at home. But none of these online hints result in a true starbucks fashion cafe mocha. The secret is in the mocha powder they use. It is different then anything anybody can substitute. Recently I have noticed that they have 2 different noticeable textured powders being sold. One is almost a rust color and the other is a lighter brown in color. But they still come out to taste the same, So I usually throw a way 7 bucks on their brand of mocha powder which I am sure could be obtained somewhere other then Starbucks. Does anyone have inside information on where I can purchase this mocha powder or who the manufacturer is?

I go to Starbucks now just to read the cups. Cafe mocha also, whats the big deal.?
Q. Looks like basic philosophy to me. My last cup says. "Complex problems defy simple solutions. One cannot end poverty by giving money to every poor person, nor is the world cleaned up if everyone rode their bikes to work instead of driving. We need to commit to a total solution for our precived problems. We need to also remember that most solutions hurt people too. What or who we hurt and who or what we fix is always the tough part of the equasion." "equation", oops. Roast duck anyone. The coffee is a little expencive but they had a coffee maker on sale for $1,200.

A. If people believe that God is everywhere (including inside themselves) then this quote shouldn't bother anyone because by looking inwards, you will still find God, and that He is no more a figment of an imagination than the air we breathe is.

What is it about Starbucks that gives me digestive disturbances?
Q. I order a cafe mocha at Starbucks, and it happens every time. I order one somewhere else, and it doesn't. What is it about Starbucks that gives me this problem? What do they put in it??
Asked by Joanne - Wed Oct 10 09:50:06 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Speaking from my experience as a one-time barista for Starbucks, there may be a couple of different items from Starbucks cafe mocha versus one from another place that could be the culprit for your digestive issue. Starbucks makes their own whip cream in the store where as another cafe more likely will use a commercial brand. One other possibility would be the mocha syrup. Again, Stabucks makes there own in store and is their own brand which another cafe would not have access to (legally anyhow). It would be easy to rule out the whip cream as the issue; just order your next cafe mocha from Starbucks without whip cream. If you don't experience your problem, then it's the whip cream, however, if you do experience your problem still it is… [cont.]

Is there really any way you can make a coffee drink/latte that tastes like Starbucks?
Q. Those Starbucks drinks are addictive. I highly doubt the great taste could be replicated for, say, a caramel frapuccino, caramel machiatto, cafe mocha, or gingerbread latte... But, has anyone had any success in making their own?
Asked by DCPete27 - Thu Nov 29 13:32:38 2007 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. A Frappuccino is nearly impossible to replicate at home since we use our own ingredients to create our own base, which is used in a Frappuccino. I know there are sites that give out recipes to drinks that are supposed to be like Frapps, but I doubt they are really accurate or tasty. I have yet to try any of these so-called recipes, but if you try one..let me know! To make hot drinks similar to ours, you will need a good espresso machine. I also believe that a good barista makes a good drink, but the pricier the machine, the better job it will do on steaming milk and making espresso. Not even a great barista can make a $25 Mr. Coffee espresso machine make high quality drinks. If you have a decent machine, you can buy our espresso beans.… [cont.]
