Alabama ( / ˌ æ l ə ˈ b æ m ə /) is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States of America. It is bordered by Tennessee to the north, Georgia to the east, Florida and the Gulf of Mexico to the south, and Mississippi to the west. Alabama ranks 30th in total land area and ranks second in the size of its inland waterways. The state ranks 23rd in population with almost 4.6 million residents in 2006.

From the American Civil War until World War II, Alabama, like many Southern states, suffered economic hardship, in part because of continued dependence on agriculture. Despite the growth of major industries and urban centers, white rural interests dominated the state legislature until the 1960s, while urban interests and African Americans were under-represented. Following World War II, Alabama experienced growth as the economy of the state transitioned from agriculture to diversified interests in heavy manufacturing, mineral extraction, education, and technology. In addition, the establishment or expansion of multiple military installations, primarily those of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, added to state jobs.

Alabama is unofficially nicknamed the Yellowhammer State, after the state bird. Alabama is also known as the "Heart of Dixie". The state tree is the Longleaf Pine, the state flower is the Camellia. The capital of Alabama is Montgomery. The largest city by population is Birmingham. The largest city by total land area is Huntsville. The oldest city is Mobile, founded by French colonists.

A. Hey mate, I applied for an agency just recently. I've had one before though, I've had a break for a couple of years and getting back into it. What I did is get a list of agents in my state. I'm in Australia so I went to the MEAA (Media Entertainment Arts Alliance) - the Entertainment Union, should be something similar in your Country. Got a list of the agents. Typed myself up a dynamic cover letter, brief, using words like "I have" "I am" "I will". Typed up a resume, paid $25 for the central black and white photo you see in this video: Then got a friend with a decent camera to take some additional photos of me. Put a showreel of my previous work together. Then packaged it all up and sent it off to 9 different agents, I had short… [cont.]

Who is going to win the Alabama vs. Florida college football game?
Q. I was just on yahoo college football pick'em and users are stuck in a 50/50 tie with who they think will win this game. What do you think? I would love to see Florida lose their final regular season game and get knocked out of the championship game. Then it should leave Texas and Alabama to decide the title.

A. Looking at both teams overall and what they have done so far, through observation I would say this win will go to the TIDE, ALABAMA. Florida Gators just hasn't had a test like this in quite a while. Not even this season against a Defense, special teams and running game like Alabama has. I say that MT. Cody and the D-line does a number on Tebow and contains him and the running game and the Gators can't win relying only of the arm of Tebow. Stop Tebow from being the main reason the chains move and you get into his mind. He gets visably frustrated when he isn't the one doing it himself. He is a glory junky. Not really a team player. Get in his head and he will make mistake that will cause them to lose.
